Adam Kaufman was an analyst for the CTU office in LA. He replaced an agent named Sean Walker after Walker was murdered by Peter Madsen (cold_anger), the leader of a terrorist group that took over CTU. He also did the background screening for Chloe O'Brian before she made the transfer from CTU Washington to CTU LA. The majority of his CTU work was in season three, where he was an integral part of the Salazar investigation. The day was not without tragedy, though, as his sister Sara was one of the people who contracted the Cordilla virus at the Chandler Plaza Hotel; she later died from the infection.
Adam left CTU shortly thereafter, traveling for a while and doing some freelance tech work. He finally came to settle in Aiode Falls, where he found a job at Mystical Electronics. Not long afterward, he found himself the new owner as the old one suddenly needed to leave town.
